Schroders is to launch a UK financial institutions and strategic accounts team, in a drive to boost relations with national adviser firms and platforms as well as banks and insurance companies.

The team will be headed up James Rainbow, who will step down from his head of marketing UK role in September.

In his new role, Mr Rainbow will be supported by Ross Mackinnon, Jon Simmons and Paul Hazeldine and the team will report into managing director of UK intermediary Robin Stoakley.

The team will work alongside the UK discretionary sales team, which is managed by Phil Middleton, and the UK advisory sales team, managed by Steve Jackson.

When Mr Rainbow begins his new role, responsibility for his team will pass to Pete Beckett, head of international marketing.

“Following our acquisition of Cazenove Capital in July this year we have re-organised and strengthened our business development offering to the market,” Mr Stoakley said.

“The establishment of the UK financial institutions and strategic accounts team reflects the larger following we now have in the UK intermediary space and shows our continued commitment to build and further develop these important partnerships.”
