Matterley’s top-performing fund manager Henry Dixon is set to leave the group to join GLG.

Mr Dixon, who is a founder of the company, will continue to run the £75.8m FP Matterley Undervalued Assets fund as part of an agreement between Matterley and the manager.

Under Mr Dixon’s tenure, the fund has delivered 88.2 per cent since its launch in August 2008 compared with the 52.2 per cent return from the IMA UK All Companies sector and the 51.4 per cent return from the FTSE All-Share index benchmark.

The manager will join GLG to work on its UK equity team. He will be joined at GLG by assistant fund manager Jack Barrett and analyst Alice Sharp, who both supported him at Matterley in managing the Undervalued Assets fund.

The departure comes just a year after Miton hired Matterley duo George Godber, a fund manager, and Georgina Hamilton, an analyst.
