Called wagechecker.com, it seeks to provide financial services professionals with a benchmark wage for the role they are currently fulfilling, and to put them in touch with prospective employers that might be willing to pay more for their skills.

Financial advisers, mortgage advisers and paraplanners can get a no-strings salary valuation, which will indicate whether they are being paid under or at - or above - market rate for that particular role.

They can also make themselves available, by choosing to receive telephone invites directly from prospective employers via email. All of the details will be completely anonymous and no information will be passed onto an employer unless the adviser confirms interest in an invitation.

According to Mr Hagues, the system will only release the adviser or paraplanner’s details when they give it instructions to do so.

He said: “Hopefully this can help to redistribute talent and labour where it is most needed and valued, and where employers can find the best possible candidates from a sleeping pool of talent.”

Also in development stage is one for firms, whereby potential employers can quickly scan for highly qualified candidates, without having to go through costly recruitment and hiring processes.
