Skandia, part of Old Mutual Wealth, has appointed Tom Hawkins in the newly created role of head of UK proposition marketing.

Mr Hawkins will have responsibility for the development and marketing of Skandia’s customer proposition in the UK, covering platform, pensions and investment solutions.

Skandia said the new role has been created to enable Skandia to have specific focus on its UK and international customer propositions, which in turn will allow it to better support financial advisers.

Mr Hawkins has been at Skandia for 15 years and previously headed up the strategy and research team and prior to that had roles within the sales team and marketing development.

Previously Phil Oxenham headed up both the UK and international proposition marketing teams and will now focus solely on the development and marketing of Skandia’s international proposition.

Michelle Andrews, marketing director at Skandia, said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Tom Hawkins as our new head of UK proposition marketing.

“Tom has done a fantastic job contributing towards the strategy of the business and will play a key role in shaping our UK proposition going forwards.”
