Standard Life promotes wrap platform head

Standard Life has appointed David Tiller as head of adviser propositions and strategy, a newly created role.

Mr Tiller’s role will now be extended beyond Standard Life wrap to include its Sipp and international bond propositions, as well as business support services for IFAs.

His 30-strong team will be joined by Mike Hogg, who will take on the role head of platform strategy, alongside Graham Dow, who now becomes head of wealth manager propositions.

Mr Tiller said that he has worked closely with the pair over the last couple of years on the platform developments, including the introduction of clean share classes.

“The team now continues to focus on our immediate priority, which is supporting firms in developing their propositions and processes for clients living off their portfolios in retirement,” he commented, adding that the tax planning, investment and servicing of these clients has fundamentally changed and firms need solutions to meet these requirements.

“This isn’t about drawdown ‘bells and whistles’ or complex investment guarantees, it’s about helping advisers deliver better outcomes to more clients by systemising the process of investing, monitoring and withdrawing assets from portfolios.”

A spokesperson for the firm explained that this is a newly created role and no one has left to facilitate it.
