‘Older persons’ advice firm appoints MD

Saga and Tilney Bestinvest’s financial advice joint venture Saga Investment Services has appointed Nicola Audhlam-Gardiner as its new managing director.

She joins from a current position of marketing director for Williams and Glyn and was previously products and marketing director for the corporate bank of Royal Bank of Scotland.

In January the over-50s group and investment house joined forces to develop a range of bespoke financial services and solutions for older clients, to launch in the second half of this year.

Saga will identify those within its proprietary database of 10.6m over-50s who could benefit from the new services, also designing the proposition, while Tilney Bestinvest provides the investment and financial planning capability.

Peter Hall, chief executive of Tilney Bestinvest, added: “The JV brings together Saga’s insight into the UK’s over 50s with Tilney Bestinvest’s investment and financial planning expertise.

“With the recent radical shake-up of pensions, there has never been a greater need for high quality advice and support from a trusted brand.”
