Bacon heads out at PTFS as Max Wright takes over

Former Personal Touch Financial Services chief executive Max Wright has taken on a new non-executive role as chairman of the network.

Mr Wright’s appointment completes its succession planning strategy, which began with the appointment of Jane Cross as chief executive in November 2014. Previously, Ms Cross had been finance and IT director for the network.

Mr Wright, who was chief executive from 2009 to the end of 2014, remained as as non-executive director. Ms Cross took up the reins on 28th November, with a formal welcome presentation for her on 22nd January 2015.

According to Mr Wright, his role will now focus on providing strategic long-term growth and development.

He said: “I am really excited to be taking on my new role as chairman, focusing on longer-term strategic planning.

“Having pioneered the new network model, which is proving so successful, we are perfectly positioned to capitalise on all the new opportunities and challenges which the advice sector and particularly the mortgage and ‘at retirement’ markets present.”

Nick Bacon, former chairman of PTFS, who worked with the business as a non-executive director since 2011, now moves on having overseen a transformation of the business.

Mr Wright said: “We would really like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Mr Bacon for all the hard work and support he has provided over the past few years, covering a period of great change not just for Personal Touch but also for the broader advice sector.”
