Towry’s online portal to show clients the bigger picture

Adviser firm Towry has launched an online portal for its clients to access personal financial information, Dave Percy has announced.

Called My Towry, the portal aims to help the national advisory firm’s clients see all aspects of their financial life – on their computer, tablet and smartphone.

It also allows them to communicate with their adviser through the system.

“It is undeniable that digital technologies are reshaping the way consumers engage with their finances and that the industry must adapt to take advantage of this shift. From speaking to clients, we identified that they wanted more than just the ability to see their investments and pensions online,” Mr Percy, Towry’s chief operating officer, said.

The portal has incorporated web solutions provider Sammedia’s moneyinfo product, which enables clients to view their investments and assets alongside their bank accounts, credit cards, mortgages and loans.

Mik Cons, Sammedia’s chief executive, said: “The service provides Towry clients with greater choice as to how they wish to keep track of their investments and access useful information on a range of financial topics.”

Jeremy Edwards, associate partner at Leicestershire-based Martin-Redman Partners, said: “It makes sense to engage with technology and this seems like a good idea, but the industry tends to make technology overly complicated – most IFAs embrace it where there is no choice.”
