Bankhall launches business development workshops

Support services provider Bankhall has launched a series of business development workshops for adviser firms at eight venues across the UK.

The workshops focus on business growth with an emphasis on the impact and challenges for business leaders in managing expansion.

The sessions - which are being run by Bankhall in conjunction with Lou Macari, Aegon UK’s platform strategy director - are designed for organisations of any size who wish to grow their businesses.

Christian Woodford, head of Bankhall Account Management, said: “We recognise that there are numerous factors that need to be considered and prioritised for businesses to be able to grow.

“Our business development workshops provide leaders with valuable information through presentations, case studies and discussions with peers, with emphasis placed on practical action planning.”

The free workshops will start on 18 January in Warrington and will also be held in Bristol, Gatwick, Watford, Wakefield, Belfast, Leicester and Durham.

They will cover topics such as the various stages of the business lifecycle, the key success factors for where a business is now and how it can improve.

Robert Young, owner of Northern Ireland-based InvestNShare, took part in Bankhall’s business development programme last year.

He said: “I believe that we can become too focused within our own business day-to-day that we fail to work on it longer term.

“The workshop afforded me the space to do just that. It also allowed me to learn from my peers and share ideas that have helped with my own planning and structure.

“I am now working on the operational plan for the next three years and feel more in control of the direction we want to go and the profit targets that we have set.”

In March Sesame Bankhall Group announced that its AR business would close following a strategic review.

When it closed in July 105 of its firms - or 30 per cent - moved from Sesame to go directly authorised with Bankhall.

Advisers can reserve their place via the Bankhall website - bankhall.co.uk.
