Charles Stanley joins FE model portfolio service

Charles Stanley has become the latest wealth manager to add its model portfolio data, including asset allocation and performance details, onto FE Analytics.

The data will be available through the FE Transmission service, which provides comparative information on discretionary fund managers’ model portfolios.

FE launched the service in March last year to provide model portfolio information and performance to advisers.

Mark Pittaccio, head of intermediary distribution at Charles Stanley, said the partnership will bring additional value to advisers’ client propositions.

“It was crucial for Charles Stanley to be on the platform to allow advisers to compare the services offered by various DFMs and select the most appropriate for their business and clients.

“This comparison service is a further step in increasing transparency within the industry and at the same time helps advisers with their due diligence processes.”

The FE Transmission service allows advisers to compare and research the attributes of a portfolio, including its underlying holdings.

Since it launched last year, 14 DFMs have joined, including Old Mutual Wealth, 7IM and London & Capital. FE said another eight are currently in the process of joining.

Michael Holland, managing director of FE, said: “As more advisory firms look to use model portfolio providers, there is increasing pressure on advisers to ensure the discretionary manager selection process - and the ongoing service - is managed professionally.

“Our objective is to help advisory firms make better investment decisions for their clients based on accurate portfolio comparisons and better insights,” he added.
