Miton plunges 25% as Hamilton and Godber resign

Miton fund managers George Godber and Georgina Hamilton have served notice they are to resign from the firm.

The pair currently co-manage the £869m CF Miton UK Value Opportunities fund, and Miton said they will serve out contractual notice periods of 12 months for Mr Godber and six months for Ms Hamilton.

Miton stated its focus “continues to be on looking after the best interests of its clients as it recruits replacement portfolio managers”.

The fund has delivered a return of 57.7 per cent since its launch in March 2013 compared with the average 16.4 per cent return from the IA UK All Companies sector, according to data from FE Analytics.

Miton shares were 25 per cent lower in early trading at 26p apiece. UK Value Opps accounts for almost 30 per cent of the group’s £3bn in assets.
