The lender’s distribution channel for advisers will be renamed Santander for Intermediaries from 17 July.

The Abbey name will continue to be used for the firm’s mortgage range, while banking services through Cater Allen, a banking subsidiary of Santander, will also be housed under the overall brand of Santander for Intermediaries.

Miguel Sard, managing director of Santander for Intermediaries, said the rebrand would allow the bank to work “even more closely” with intermediaries “to write quality business and meet customers’ needs”.

He added: “The intermediary channel is very important to Santander and we will continue to support the intermediary market with great products and service as we deepen our relationships with intermediaries and their clients.”
