Ashcourt Rowan’s head of fund research Alan Scrimger has left the group to join boutique investment manager IPS Capital.

Mr Scrimger, who held the fund research head role at Ashcourt on a consultant basis, joined IPS last month.

Jonathan Polin, chief executive at Ashcourt Rowan, said: “Alan did an excellent job in restructuring our Best Advice List for fund research as a consultant, under chief investment officer Toni Meadows.

“Now that we have finished the process he was asked to achieve and completed the purchase of UK Wealth Management (UKWM), it is important that the new combined team take over the reins.”

Ashcourt Rowan completed its acquisition of UKWM earlier this month pushing it assets under management to £5bn.

The London-based group said it had gained FCA approval for its purchase of UKWM adding the move would increase Ashcourt’s office count to 17 and assets above £5bn, of which £2.2bn is discretionary and managed.
