Franklin Templeton’s Brent Smith has left the firm after 18 years.

Mr Smith was chief investment officer of Franklin multi-asset strategies and had been co-manager on the Luxembourg-domiciled Franklin Global Equity Strategies and Franklin Global Fundamental Strategies funds.

Last year he was made managing director for funds management and research for Franklin Templeton Solutions.

Matthias Hoppe replaced Mr Smith on the funds in March, with Tony Coffey continuing as lead manager.
