Three senior members of Barings’ multi-asset team have quit the group, Investment Adviser can reveal.

Percival Stanion, Andrew Cole and Shaniel Ramjee have resigned from the company.

The multi-asset team will now be run by its chief investment officer Marino Valensise, who will be replaced as CIO by new hire Ken Lambden from Schroders. Mr Lambden was global head of equities at Schroders but left the group last year.

The group has also hired former Schroders manager Sonja Laud, who ran global equity income products at the Gresham Street-based group. She will be multi-asset income investment manager and will report to Mr Valensise.

Chief executive David Brennan said it was a “natural fit” for Mr Valensise to assume leadership of the multi-asset franchise given his seven years as CIO.

A spokesperson for the group said Mr Valensise had “expressed a desire” to run money again.

Elsewhere, Chris Mahon will take over the £1bn retail Multi-Asset fund from Mr Cole, who has been at Barings for 28 years.
