Barnett Waddingham has acquired Harsant Pensions Services in a deal that will add more than 400 self-invested personal pensions to its business, Julia Basset has announced.

The chief executive of the firm of actuaries and consultants said: “We are excited to welcome the Harsant Pensions team and its clients and advisers. The acquisition part of our gradual and considered growth strategy, and the deal is a natural fit for us and our long-term goals.”

The acquisition of the Wirral-based pensions firm sees its Sipp portfolio increase to more than 2,725 schemes representing more than £1bn assets under administration.
