With regard to claims that Scottish Widows did not notify people in time about their GAR deadline (28 August), surely it is a case for enhanced terms using the open market option if the client is suffering ill health and wishes to pursue the annuity path?
With regards to Scottish Widows’ customer and adviser service, I can confirm it is very poor. I have just received paperwork from them for a pension transfer: it took five phone calls and three weeks. We are still awaiting the funds from Scottish Widows.
What steps is the FCA taking to speed up this process?
