Berkshire-based advice firm rebrands after takeover

AFH Financial Group has bought Berkshire-based A&J Wealth Management for an undisclosed sum.

In a LinkedIn post the firm announced it had rebranded to AFH Wealth Management Cookham following the deal.

The firm said the rebrand will allow existing clients will be able to a wider range of services in their financial planning journey.

AFH is an integrated financial advice and investment management firm which has more than 200 IFAs across the UK.

On its website, the newly rebranded AFH Wealth Management Cookham, said: “Our values and client-centric approach to financial advice aligns with AFH's and our aim has always been to help our clients appreciate, understand, and achieve their dreams and aspirations.

“We work together with our clients to build their personalised financial plan which sets them on the road to financial independence and personal freedom.”

The company will be led by chief executive and founder Gareth Jones with its existing office remaining open.

In 2021, the FCA gave the green light for a takeover of AFH Financial Group by US private equity firm Cortina Bidco 

At the time it said it was on the hunt for valuable buying opportunities after the coronavirus pandemic caused it to step back from the acquisition in 2020.
