Baillie Gifford’s Gush appointed to emerging markets fund

Baillie Gifford has appointed Mike Gush as the co-manager of the £556.7m Baillie Gifford Emerging Markets Growth fund.

Mr Gush will manage the £556.67m fund along with Richard Sneller, the current manager. He also manages the £6.3m Greater China fund.

Mr Gush, who has been with Baillie Gifford since 2003, was removed as the manager of the Pacific Horizon investment trust in March of last year.

The trust had underperformed in previous years, and its performance was branded “disappointing” by the chairman of the trust in his annual report in September 2013.

James Budden, director of retail marketing and distribution at Baillie Gifford, said:“Mike has been a key part of the team managing this fund for some time now and his appointment to co-manager recognises his contribution.”
