McKinnon appointed lead manager of Scottish IT

The Scottish Investment Trust has passed lead manager responsibilities to its acting manager Alasdair McKinnon.

Mr McKinnon has been acting manager since mid July 2014 when John Kennedy, who had been running the trust for 10 years, left.

Mr McKinnon has been with the £736m investment trust since 2003.

Numis Securities said the trust is “unusual” in the fact it is self-managed and the team does not manage any other investments.

The trust has returned 66.4 per cent in the past five years, compared to the index, the MSCI World, which has returned 75.4 per cent in the same period, according to Numis.

The trust’s shares are trading at a 9 per cent discount to the net value of its assets.
