LV introduces retirement policy service

LV has launched a retirement proposition that will allow advisers to select and recommend products.

The LV Retirement Pathfinder will allow advisers to tailor either single products or a mixture of several to their clients’ needs.

It is free for advisers to access on the website, but to save the content, advisers need to have an LV login.

Richard Rowney, managing director of LV Life and Pensions, said: “Prior to the Budget we were already seeing advisers blending solutions in order to achieve a level of income flexibility and a guaranteed element for their client.

“We believe that the new pension freedoms will result in even greater demand as more advisers seek to combine solutions to achieve a tailored income option for their clients.”

The Retirement Account service – which is available now – is supported by Retirement View, a service that allows advisers and paraplanners to quote, apply and service LV policies online.

This latter service will go live on 7 April.

Marvin Evans, principal of Gloucestershire-based Old Bank Wealth Management, said: “What LV has come out with is excellent because you can mix and match and for some people it will be very important to have an underlying guarantee.

“My personal opinion is that there will be mass confusion about what people’s options are.”
