Passive provider Source founder to leave

Source founder Ted Hood is to leave his position as chief executive next week leaving the group now searching for a replacement.

The exchange traded product provider was founded by Mr Hood and Peter Thompson in 2009 but the former is due to leave at the end of March.

Mr Thompson, president of the group, will take over the day-to-day operations while a search begins for a new chief executive.

“Now is the right time for Source to take its business to the next level and it has created a formidable team and capability to do just that,” Mr Hood said.

“I leave knowing that the firm is in very good hands and poised for great future success.”

Elsewhere, Jim Polisson has been appointed as chief marketing officer. His previous experience includes roles as global head of marketing for iShares from 2000 to 2009 and most recently as chief executive of Russell ETFs.

Lee Kranefuss, chairman of Source, said: “Ted has helped to grow Source into a leading European ETP provider and position Source for growth.

“With an ambitious growth strategy to expand the existing business and to enter new geographies and markets, it was felt that now was a good time for a change in leadership.”
