A team of hardy volunteers from Leeds Building Society’s customer contact centre braved the harsh conditions of the Beach Warrior charity event to raise £1,200 for four charities, including the Great North Air Ambulance.

They tackled the tough 10k Warrior Beach Assault course at Whitley Bay Beach, fighting their way through 20 testing obstacles featuring tough challenges including the popular ‘lethal trench’.

Ali Devine, customer contact centre manager, said: “The course this year was bigger, harder, tougher and definitely muddier. Everyone agreed it’s a fantastic event to take part in and we had great fun raising funds for such worthwhile causes.”
