Investment trust analyst Paul Locke dies

Paul Locke, an investment trust analyst who recently joined Investec, has died.

Mr Locke joined Investec in February this year. He had been a fund analyst since 1997, working at Panmure Gordon, HSBC, Canaccord Genuity, Cantor Fitzgerald and Westhouse Securities.

Prior to this, he worked as a sovereign risk analyst at Dun & Bradstreet from 1989 until 1997.

Jamie Lowe, the head of Investec’s closed-end funds team, said: “We would like to pay tribute to the outstanding contribution that Paul has made to the sector over a number of years.

“Paul was a passionate and prominent supporter of investment funds and was widely regarded for his integrity and his high quality insightful research and we wish to recognise this very significant achievement. He will be a loss to the sector.

“Paul was a kind and considerate man, with many friends in the sector and will be remembered with much fondness.

“The thoughts of our team are today with Paul’s family.”
