Could it please be made compulsory – or at least highly desirable – for all providers to include a “countdown” facility on their telephones.
This is where the caller is informed what number they are in the queue. Having spent (another) 20 minutes trying to get through to Friends Life before hanging up, I had no idea, as it was mid-to-late afternoon on a Friday, whether my call would get answered or not. Maybe it will on Monday, but maybe not.
