Miton hires Moreno for European fund launch

Boutique fund management house Miton is planning an expansion into European equities with the hire of former JO Hambro Capital Management (Johcm) fund manager Carlos Moreno.

The group said Mr Moreno, who left Johcm in January, would run a European Equity fund which it is seeking FCA approval to launch.

Mr Moreno has been in the asset management industry for 21 years, Miton said, including Thames River Capital Management and Fidelity prior to his four years at Johcm.

Ian Dighé, chairman of Miton Group, said the appointment represented the “next step in our growth strategy based on developing and providing distinct investment strategies for investors”

“Carlos is a genuine stockpicker,” he added.

“He has a thorough investment process coupled with extensive experience in the European Equities arena.”
