Intrinsic chief executive role formalised

Andy Thompson has become chief executive of Intrinsic Financial Services, subject to regulatory approvals.

He will continue to report to Richard Freeman who - as was announced in November this year - is stepping up to become chief distribution officer at Old Mutual Wealth.

Previously distribution director at Intrinsic, Mr Thompson was recently appointed managing director of Intrinsic and has worked closely with Mr Freeman on business strategy since 2012.

Mr Thompson said: “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with my colleagues in Old Mutual Wealth to lead a business that is so well positioned within the market.”

Mr Freeman will continue to oversee the strategic development of Intrinsic and work closely with the business in 2016 while it completes the acquisition of the Financial Adviser School from Sesame Bankhall Group.

Background

Andy Thompson began his career as a financial adviser before becoming London regional director at Zurich Advice Network for five years. This was followed by eight years as MD of his own company, Blueprint Financial Services, before joining Intrinsic in 2012.
