FundsNetwork adds 25 trusts in further expansion

FundsNetwork has made an additional 25 investment trusts available on the platform, taking its total to 91.

The Fidelity-owned fund supermarket was the first major adviser platform to make the investment trusts and exchange-traded products (ETPs) available to its customers last November, and has gradually added more products since that date.

FundsNetwork has now added 25 further trusts on the platform, including the Allianz Technology, Edinburgh Worldwide, Capital Gearing, Lowland, Jupiter European Opportunities, Standard Life UK Smaller Companies and TwentyFour Income offerings.

The platform started with the 54 “most popular” trusts last year before adding an additional 12 in May. The total number of trusts now stands at 91, in addition to 80 ETPs.

Danny Wynn, head of fund partners at Fidelity International, said: “We have continued to see a steady uptick in demand for investment trusts since we introduced these vehicles on FundsNetwork last year.

“The addition of these investment trusts, from some of the best known investment managers in the industry, demonstrates our ongoing commitment to develop and expand our proposition to meet the needs of our clients.”

Other major platforms have yet to unveil concrete plans in following FundsNetwork in offering access to investment trusts. Legal & General-owned Cofunds said last year it has no immediate plans to do so, while Old Mutual Wealth said it would in 2017.
