Rathbones poaches Investec analyst for research role

Rathbones has hired Sanjiv Tumkur as head of equity research as the firm expands its capabilities in the area.

The new role will see Mr Tumkur develop the firm’s “equity philosophy and process” as it builds up its research teams to ease the burden on the investment team headed by Julian Chillingworth.

He reports to head of research Elizabeth Savage and joined from Investec Wealth & Investment, where he was a senior equity analyst.

Mr Chillingworth stepped back from fund management responsbilities in January in order to focus on leading the investment teams as chief investment officer.

He said: “Sanjiv and the research team will continue to collaborate closely with investment managers in developing our unique, non-prescriptive process.”

Ms Savage added: “Sanjiv’s extensive experience in stock analysis and selection will prove invaluable, not only now but in the years ahead as our research capability expands.”
