A new chief operating officer has been appointed at Saltus to oversee the development of its partnership programme for financial planning firms.

Alistair Stuart is expected to focus on the Saltus Partnership Programme, launched in September 2023, which aims to help financial planning businesses drive performance and growth or consider options for selling.

Stuart said he was keen to join Saltus because the wealth management firm aims to do things differently.

He said: "There are significant challenges facing wealth management firms today, with new technology, AI, regulation, and global market uncertainties just some of the major issues facing owner-managers.

"The businesses able to navigate this landscape without losing the human touch, balanced with a drive for innovation and technological advancement, will be the ones that thrive."

He added: "It was immediately clear to me that Saltus is well-placed to innovate in all of these areas, with the passion to deliver on its insurgent mission, to do things differently and improve everyone’s relationship with their wealth.

"This strong cultural DNA that runs through everyone on the team drives a genuine client obsession and a deep-rooted entrepreneurial mindset.”

Until December 2022, Stuart served as director of operations and transformation at Nationwide Buliding Society and has previously held senior positions at the European Depository Bank, Investec and RBS.

Jon Macintosh, CEO of Saltus, said: "As we continue our rapid growth, Alistair’s wealth of experience and unique perspective will help us ensure the business continues to scale effectively while providing best in class experiences for clients.”
