Holder & Combes, the City-based IFA firm of Chartered and Certified advisers, has announced that it has gained direct authorisation status from the Financial Services Authority and so is no longer part of the Blueprint network.

The firm, which has left Blueprint on “excellent terms”, claims to be fully prepared for the incoming Retail Distribution Review and will continue to build its client-focused investment proposition.

SimplyBiz is handling its compliance support services.

Nick Combes, director at Holder & Combes, said the change was the “next step” in the firm’s development plans.

He said: “This move places a considerable amount of responsibility directly onto our shoulders, but also gives us complete control over the direction and future of our business and importantly the levels of service we can provide for our clients.

“We left Blueprint on excellent terms, and they understand this step is a natural progression for a firm such as ours. We look forward to working with SimplyBiz as we feel they offer excellent practice services and support which will ultimately benefit our business and as such our clients.”
