Henderson Global Investors has hired analyst Yan Ling Wong to join its $1bn (£620m) Asia-Pacific property equity team.

Ms Wong joined Henderson last month from Standard Chartered, where she was an associate in commercial real estate for two years. The analyst will be based in Singapore where she will report to Tim Gibson, head of property equities, Asia, who runs the $357m Henderson Horizon Asia-Pacific Property Equities fund.

Mr Gibson said: “The Asia-Pacific region has seen a strong resurgence in property shares this year and demand for residential, in particular, has remained strong, in spite of measures to cool markets in China, Hong Kong and Singapore.

“We expect there to be a big difference between the best and the rest, meaning that the larger companies with the better assets will tend to outperform. Yan Ling will play an important part in our team to enable us to navigate our way through the challenging market.”
