Peter Hall, chief executive, said the five funds offered investors access to “a carefully blended mix of Bestinvest’s top-rated funds in an open-ended investment company wrapper, and with a range of asset allocations to meet different risk appetites and objectives.”

He said the funds were launched to enable investors without the time or inclination to run their own portfolios to benefit from “high-quality investment management” for sums of £500 upwards. Many of Bestinvest’s clients choose a multi-asset portfolio fund as their core investment.

Others selected the multi-asset range as a one-stop fund, or used the funds to invest their Isa or Sipp.

Mr Hall added: “The Bestinvest business model offers a range of services that cater to the different requirements and expectations of our clients, from execution only, advised and managed portfolio service, through to fully bespoke wealth management.

“We have been steadily growing our investment management offering and in the five-year period since the multi-asset range was launched have demonstrated that Bestinvest is much more than an execution-only platform service and has many strings to its bow.”

Peter Davies, founder of Cardiff-based advisory firm Create Wealth, said: “There is definitely space in the market for what companies such as Bestinvest offer, especially in the execution-only space, and I can only see this type of investing increasing as the mass market finds it increasingly difficult to find advice.”
