Letter: Quirk is not truly comparing like with like

It does not seem a fair article to me and I am not an estate agent.

Mr Quirk, the founder of emoov.co.uk, claims that estate agents are effectively charging five times more than a typical fee-based financial adviser when per-hour costs are calculated.

Why is Mr Quirk comparing estate agents to financial advisers? What is the relevance? Maybe if IFAs do not think it is fair, they could change profession.

Surely the estate agent fee goes to run the estate agency and not just pay the estate agent. In addition there are quite a few estate agencies that have set fees. What does Mr Quirk have to say about that?
