BlackRock has hired Tony DeSpirito to co-manage the BlackRock North American Trust with Bob Shearer and Kathleen Anderson.
Mr DeSpirito has joined BlackRock as a managing director and as co-head of its equity dividend team with Mr Shearer.
In addition to co-managing the investment trust, Mr DeSpirito will also be co-manager of BlackRock’s range of equity dividend strategies, including the offshore BlackRock Global Funds North American Equity Income fund.
He was hired from Pzena Investment Management, where he had worked for 18 years, latterly as managing principal, portfolio manager and a member of the firm’s executive committee
