Artemis has promoted Nick Shenton to be a co-manager alongside Adrian Frost and Adrian Gosden on the £6.7bn Artemis Income fund.

Mr Shenton had been an analyst supporting Mr Frost and Mr Gosden since he was hired from Polar Capital in 2012.

Artemis’s director of communications, Ross Leckie, said it was an “evolutionary promotion” that “recognises the contribution Nick has made to our UK income funds over the last few years”.

Mr Leckie said most of the Income fund’s clients had met with Mr Shenton and were “very comfortable about his promotion within the team”.

He also made clear that the promotion “does not mean that Adrian Frost is planning to retire”.

Prior to joining Artemis in July 2012, Mr Shenton had spent nearly five years at Polar Capital as an analyst and assistant portfolio manager.

He had previously spent four years at F&C Asset Management as an equity analyst and assistant fund manager.
