Insurer LV= has announced plans to join the UnderwriteMe protection comparison service, with one of its specialists, claiming this will make the buying process easier for advisers.
Myles Rix, managing director for protection at LV=, said: “We are committed to helping advisers protect more people and being easy to do business with.”
A pilot of the service will start in July with four insurers and a selection of protection distributors. It will be on general release to directly authorised advisers later in 2015.
UnderwriteMe’s technology aims to transform quick quote comparisons into fully underwritten comparisons and a click-and-buy option.
Emma Thomson, life office relations director for London-based LifeSearch, said: “Being able to offer clients a real price comparison, with buy now terms or proper price estimates and next steps, significantly improves the efficiency and effectiveness of our service.”
