Moving IFP staff to London is not a capital idea

Regarding the purported move by IFP staff from Bristol to London (FA, 3 September): I love London, I am a member and advocate of the IFP, and I can see good reason why the merged entity would be based in London. But I think it is a pity that the merged entity cannot be based outside London.

We need to spread all aspects of commerce throughout the country – particularly financial services. Housing and office costs are ludicrously high in and around London, which inevitably are reflected in the salaries needed to support existence, which inevitably means higher fees/targets – and so the insanity continues.
