Staff from the Bank of England have raised a phenomenal £49,000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Through a variety of fundraising activities including marathon runs, pub quizzes and bake sales, employees from the bank’s City of London head office smashed their initial £35,000 target to give a major boost to the UK’s leading dementia charity.

Bank of England employee and Alzheimer’s Research UK honorary fellow Dr Martin Weale said: “I want to thank all the Bank staff for their impressive fundraising efforts. The money will be very valuable to Alzheimer’s Research UK, helping them to continue their important work towards defeating dementia.”
