LV launches legal advice service

LV has set the ball rolling for an online service which offers consumers advice on a range of legal matters.

The offering, called LV Legal Services, aims to provide independent, transparent and easy-to-understand legal advice.

It comes at a guaranteed fixed price, which is paid upfront, giving customers access to a team of specialist legal advisers.

The service is in partnership with UK law firm Lyons Davidson, providing legal advice on wills, power of attorney, probate, conveyancing, personal injury and employment law.

John O’Roarke, managing director at LV General Insurance, said: “Most of us need expert legal help at some point in our lives and seeking that advice can sometimes be confusing, stressful and expensive.

“We want to offer a customer-friendly alternative to people at a price that’s right for them and backed by a brand they can trust.”

LV Legal Services will be accessible via an online quoting system, where consumers can enter their details and requirements, securing an upfront fixed quote for the legal service they require.

For those requiring more specialised advice on personal injury or employment queries, Lyons Davidson’s advisory teams will be on hand to provide support.

The offering will also offer a jargon buster on its website to help users understand the legal terminology.

Mark Savill, managing director of Lyons Davidson, said: “We look forward to working with LV= in this exciting development that will highlight the significant role that insurers can play in providing easy to understand, affordable customer-facing legal services.”

In September, LV said it was ‘overwhelmed’ by the amount of interest in its robo-backed retirement advice service.
