Kuber Ventures adds four new funds to platform

Alternative fund investment platform Kuber Ventures has announced the addition of four new funds to its EIS/SEIS platform this month.

This brings the total number of funds available to 26 on the provider’s platform, following the addition of five schemes last week.

The first of the new EIS funds is Symvan Technology fund, which invests in technology companies.

The second fund is the Mariana Water Turbine fund, which invests in the purchase of hydro-electric renewable energy infrastructure assets that provide a long-term income with credit counterparties in the UK water sector.

Seed Advantage fund has also been added and offers generalist EIS investing across a spectrum of business sectors.

Symvan Capital, which invests in the technology and media sectors, and which, according to Kuber Ventures, won Best SEIS fund manager at the 2016 EIS Association Annual Awards, is also now available.

Richard Ross, director of Chadwicks, said: “We are using alternative investments more and finding we are getting more enquiries from higher net worth clients as a result of the changes to pensions, both the tapered annual allowance and the reduced lifetime allowance.

“We tend to recommend VCTs more than EIS or SEIS primarily because our clients are attracted by the tax-free income stream and generally we perceive them as being better diversified.

“However, the Kuber proposition appears to offer an efficient way of diversified EIS and SEIS investment, which we feel is essential in this high-risk investment area.”
