You can become chartered in three years, not five

I am writing to you to clarify a point of information, regarding the letter you received from Sam Caunt 'Number of chartered firms rise 82 per cent in three years, (Financial Adviser 24 November) in which the writer stated “it takes five years to become chartered”.

Our Level 4 Diploma for Financial Advisers qualification can be completed in nine months, while our Level 6 Advanced Diploma, which leads to chartered status, can be achieved by committing 150 study hours to each of the four units, with an estimated time for completing the qualification ranging from 18 – 24 months.

So in all it is possible to achieve chartered status with the London Institute of Banking & Finance in three years rather than five.
