It seems that everyone can join the freedom party – except perhaps the poor, old client. 

I do accept that there are exceptions and that in particular circumstances drawdown may be the right solution, but I certainly do not regard it as a default. 

For Mr Liversidge to say that he would even contemplate sticking his money on deposit is perhaps the most fatuous part of his argument.
