Key partnerships

As an adviser, it is likely you go the extra mile for your clients whenever you can. In a client-focused profession, the quality of service you provide helps to forge long-term relationships.

At Scottish Widows, we feel it is important to make that extra effort for your clients too, which is why we work so hard to develop partnerships that enhance and add value to our protection plans.  By working with other organisations, we can go above and beyond for your clients, demonstrating compassion and providing expertise at the times in their lives when they need it most.

Two of our most vital partnerships are with RedArc and Macmillan Cancer Support, which help to provide practical and emotional support for clients.

Partnering with RedArc

Independent organisation RedArc has helped thousands of individuals and families through chronic health conditions, bereavement, serious illness and disabilities.

This partnership provides our protection customers with access to RedArc Nurses, a team of highly qualified and experienced nurses that can offer expertise and support. We will assign a Personal Nurse best suited to your client’s needs and the same Personal Nurse remains with them for as long and as often as needed.

Some of the services that RedArc provides includes long-term practical advice and emotional support for any serious physical or mental illness, bereavement, trauma or disability. Their timely and practical support extends to services such as therapies, counselling, second medical opinion, as well as help in the home.

“Scottish Widows Care brings an extra dimension to insurance. Serious ill health is a worrying time for the patient and their families and even more so since the escalation of the Covid-19 pandemic,” says Christine Husbands, Managing Director at RedArc.

“Factors such as overstretched NHS resources, worries about contacting health professionals, as well as isolation and loneliness all add to the burden.”

She adds: “Having a trusted personal nurse on hand throughout the illness to support with practical information and advice, as well as emotional support or simply someone to talk worries through with, can be a lifeline. Customers frequently tell us that the support of their nurse has been just as important as the money.”

Your clients may be interested to know that all Scottish Widows Protect policies come with Scottish Widows Care, which is provided by RedArc at no additional cost.

Partnering with Macmillan Cancer Support

The truth is we all know someone who has been diagnosed with cancer and many of us have witnessed or experience firsthand the financial as well as emotional toll it can take. As an adviser, you want to be able to help clients as much as possible through this difficult time.

While Scottish Widows Critical Illness Cover can provide financial peace of mind, we want to offer your clients more, should they have to face a cancer diagnosis and treatment. This is why we have partnered with Macmillan Cancer Support.

Through this partnership, your clients will have access to Macmillan Cancer Nurse Specialists, helping to speed up obtaining medical evidence and considering cancer claimants for a £2,000 early payment to help with any initial costs.
