Amati fund manager steps back from firm
Anna Macdonald, who is leaving Amati Global Investors

The co-manager of a number of Amati funds has stepped back from the firm.

Anna Macdonald co-managed the TB Amati UK Smaller Companies Fund, the Amati Aim VCT and the Amati Aim IHT Portfolio Service.

She joined Amati in 2018, moving from wealth manager Adam & Company where she was an executive director.

Macdonald also spent time as head of research for Old Mutual Asset Management, and a co-manager of Henderson Global Investor’s UK Equity Market Neutral hedge fund.

In a statement today (April 24), Macdonald said she has enjoyed her time working at Amati and is looking forward to taking some time out to spend with her family.

Founder and chief executive at Amati, Paul Jourdan, said: “We have enjoyed working with Anna and thank her for her contribution over the last five years. We wish her all the best for the future.”

He added that the UK equities team, which managed the funds alongside Macdonald, remain “well-resourced and fully staffed”.

The other members of the team are Jourdan, David Stevenson, Scott McKenzie and Gareth Blades.

Amati Global Investors is a specialist asset management boutique that focuses on UK small and mid-cap companies.

It manages four vehicles, the TB Amati UK Smaller Companies Fund, Amati AIM VCT, the Amati AIM IHT Portfolio Service and the TB Amati Strategic Metals Fund, and last May it launched the TB Amati Strategic Innovation Fund.

As at March 31 last year, the company had £1.2bn in assets under management.
