Barings distribution head Woolhouse exits

Angus Woolhouse has been replaced in his role as global head of distribution at Baring Asset Management following the company’s integration with its sister firms.

The merger of the asset manager with MassMutual affiliates Babson, Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers and Wood Creek Capital was completed earlier this week, along with a rebrand under the Barings name.

A number of Babson executives have taken up key roles following the merger, which brings the assets under management under the new Barings business to $275bn (£208bn).

Duncan Robertson replaces Mr Woolhouse - who left the business after three years of service at the end of August - while fellow Babson executive Paul Thompson has been appointed as chief operating officer, chief financial officer and head of global investment services.

Oliver Burgel will take up the roles of chief executive officer of Baring Asset Management in Europe and chief operating officer for the UK business after holding similar responsibilities in Babson’s European operations.

Russ Morrison and Anthony Sciacca, both of Babson, become head of global fixed income, equities and multi-asset strategies and head of global alternative investments and private equity, respectively.

Scott Brown, of Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers, is named global real estate head.
