Hermes appoints fixed income head

Hermes Investment Management has appointed Cairn Capital's Andrew Jackson as head of fixed income as a replacement for Zoë Shaw who left the firm last year.

Mr Jackson will report to head of investment Eoin Murray, and will take over the development of Hermes' credit and direct lending investment teams. He will also focus on developing a multi-asset credit offering capable of accessing all areas of global credit markets.

The firm's head of fixed income role was created when Ms Shaw arrived at the firm in 2014, but she then left the company in the middle of 2016.

Mr Jackson previously served as chief investment officer at Cairn Capital. He has also worked for the likes of Fitch Ratings and PwC.

Mr Murray said: "His appointment underlines the commitment the business has to providing innovative, fixed income solutions to investors currently struggling with a world of low yields.”
