Ex-IA boss Sears joins Marlborough

Guy Sears, who served as interim chief executive at the Investment Association (IA) following Daniel Godrey's abrupt departure from the trade body, has taken up two non-executive director roles.

Mr Sears, previously also director of risk, compliance and legal at the IA, will serve on the boards of Marlborough Fund Managers and IFSL, both of which are Marlborough Group companies.

His aim will be to "further strengthen the independent voice on both boards".

Mr Sears served as interim chief executive of the IA from October 2015 to September 2016. He assumed this position after predecessor Mr Godfrey was ousted from the organisation.

Chris Cummings has since taken up the role of IA chief executive.
