Aviva Investors Aims co-manager exits

Aviva Investors has hired Santander Asset Management's Sunil Krishnan as Nick Samouilhan departs the company.

Mr Samouilhan has been part of the firm's flagship Aviva Investors Multi Strategy (Aims) absolute return team since launch and was co-manager of the firm's £2.2bn Aims Target Income product.

The firm said he was leaving to pursue a new opportunity. He will be replaced on the fund by Gavin Counsell, who has been with the firm for over five years and worked with the Aims team since launch.

The asset manager added that Mr Krishnan will become head of multi-asset funds, reporting into Aims manager and head of multi-asset Peter Fitzgerald.

Mr Krishnan joins from Santander Asset Management and has spent time working for both Hermes and the BT Pension Scheme, its parent company.

Mr Fitzgerald said: "We plan to further strengthen the multi-asset team, and these new appointments are a key part of our intention to continue to build our capabilities in both multi-strategy and long-only multi-asset funds.”
