Brewin Dolphin launches client app

Wealth manager Brewin Dolphin has launched an app designed to offer clients "instant access" to their portfolios and extending its existing online portal.

The client app is available with facial and thumbprint recognition and includes core features of the MyBrewin online portal designed to allow clients to easily access information abut their portfolios, asset allocation and performance.

Grant Parkinson, chief operating officer at Brewin Dolphin, said the app had been created in light of a changing client landscape.

He said: "How clients wish to access information is changing and we have developed our client app in response to this.

"We are strategically committed to technology innovation and offering clients a superior user experience, enabling them to access their portfolios where they want and how they want."

The FTSE 250 wealth manager has £44.1bn in total funds and its app will be available on the iPhone, Apple Watch and Android-based devices.

The launch is the latest technology move at Brewin Dolphin which in April announced a £35m commitment to overhauling its technology and replacing its custody on settlements system.

In its results in November 2018, Brewin Dolphin stated it planned to "enrich its services and client proposition" and announced its intention to replace the existing system.

The wealth manager has since signed an agreement with software provider Avaloq UK for an initial 10-year period which covers installation, ongoing support and maintenance of the new system.
